Specializing in Korean BBQ, this lively restaurant beautifully balances tradition with approachability, making it an ideal spot whether you're a first-timer or an aficionado of the cuisine. Upon arriving at 4029 Lincoln Blvd, you'll sense the warm, inviting atmosphere that promises both intimate dinners and lively gatherings.
The menu at Wharo is a celebration of Korean flavors, meticulously crafted to offer something for every palate. Signature dishes like the Certified Angus Beef Bulgogi and the exquisite Kobe Kalbi Bulgogi and Ribeye Mix showcase premium cuts of meat, bursting with rich, smoky flavors that sizzle enticingly on your tabletop grill. Complementing these are vibrant sides such as the Mushroom Family medley and the crisp, refreshing Fresh Salad Served, each bite layered with fresh, earthy notes that elevate the barbecue experience.
One cannot overlook the traditional Ban Chan served alongside the main dishes—an array of small, flavorful Korean side dishes that add bursts of texture and spice to your meal. For those seeking a comforting touch, the Spky Kalbi Soup and Kimchi Chigae offer deeply warming broths steeped in robust, familiar Korean spices, harmonizing beautifully with the sizzling meats.
Wharo also caters to those who prefer to enjoy Korean barbecue in the comfort of their own homes, offering “Korean BBQ at Home” sets. Paired with traditional soju or a carefully selected beer, these offerings allow guests to recreate an authentic dining experience that is both interactive and satisfying. The meticulous attention to detail extends to their selection of dipping sauces, each designed to enhance the bold, smoky flavors of their grilled meats.
What truly sets Wharo apart is the genuine hospitality radiating from the staff, who effortlessly guide newcomers through the grilling process. As noted by guest Annika McKay, their friendliness transforms a meal into a memorable occasion, with thoughtful touches like tea served at the end, making you feel valued and well cared for. Meanwhile, remarks from Ryan Westberg underscore the convenience of the west side location paired with the variety-packed combos, perfect for sharing and exploring multiple flavor profiles in one sitting.
The bustling, yet welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by the infectious enthusiasm and attentiveness of the staff, personified by servers such as Diego, whose kindness and professionalism elevate the dining experience to something truly special. The generous portions of authentically prepared dishes ensure guests leave satisfied, not just physically but with a lingering taste of warmth and culinary delight.
In sum, Wharo is more than just a Korean barbecue restaurant — it’s a vibrant culinary destination where the smoky sizzle of premium beef, the harmony of traditional sides, and heartfelt service come together to create an unforgettable dining adventure. Whether savoring the Kobe grill combo recommended by seasoned diners or diving into a vibrant bibimbap, every meal feels like a celebration of Korean flavor in the charming setting of Marina Del Rey.
We had a wonderful dinner here, we hadn’t tried Korean bbq before, but the staff were so friendly and explained it so well to us! We had a delicious meal that everyone enjoyed and were also offered tea at the end. Highly recommend!
Solid west side KBBQ spot with lots of options on the menu! Come early or make reservations because it fills up fast. The combos make it easy to get a solid selection of meats and all combos come with the fun side dishes. Overall great experience and convenient west side location.
Good Korean BBQ! Really fun staff, great place to stop in for lunch or early dinner. Portions are generous, especially the Korean sides (kimchi, etc). The standard Bulgogi and Short Rib beef half orders are plenty! Fun experience, always. This is a great alternative to making the hike to Koreatown and avoiding the crowds there. I saw some complaints about no all-you-can-eat option, but if you order a couple half portions and veggies, with the complimentary sides, for a couple of people, it’s nearly more than we could eat, anyway.
Great place to try Wagyu beef. Recommended Kobe grill combo with Kalbi, Bulgogi and Ribeye. Extra bonus: even though you are grilling on the table, to our surprise our clothes didn't smell afterwards.
Diego is one of the best servers I’ve met. He is attentive and extremely kind hearted. This restaurant experience I’ve had made it all the better because of Diego and the high quality meats served.
The staff was very helpful and attentive. The food was great. It's what you'd expect from a nicer KBBQ place. To me the price is not worth it. I don't have any complaints it's just too much $$. $270 with tip for 3 people. 2 beers and we were able to easily finish all the food.
Great food and very friendly staff, but also super busy. Reservations recommended. We got there around 5:30, and we were lucky to get a spot at their bar seating which was very comfortable.
We have eaten at this wonderful restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. Great Korean BBQ and super sides. The wait staff is so kind and attentive. Don't bother trying any other Korean BBQ, just go here!
